AbstractThree analogous ionic liquids containing magnesium chloride (MgCl2) are reported. The structure of the analogous ionic liquid is preliminarily investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The physicochemical properties of eutectic mixtures of choline chloride (ChCl)-MgCl2 and ethylene glycol (EG), glycerol (Gl) or urea such as viscosity, conductivity, density and CV are measured as a function of temperature at atmospheric pressure. From this variation with temperature, the thermal expansion coefficients (r), the molar Gibbs energy of activation (Delta G*) for viscous flow, the molar enthalpy of activation (Delta H*) and the molar entropy of activation (Delta S*) for viscous flow have been calculated.
