摘要	The solubility in the system CsCl-SmCl(3)-HCl(13%)-H(2)O at 25 degrees C is determined. A new compound, 2CsCl center dot SmCl(3) center dot 4H(2)O, is obtained. X-ray powder diffraction data and thermochemical data for the compound are given. After comparing the system CsCl-SmCl(3)-HCl-H(2)O with the system CsCl-RECl(3) (RE = La, Pr, Gd) -HCl-H(2)O, two subgroup effects of the light rare-earth elements are discussed.
