AbstractUnder the circumstance of NH3, the new anode material Li2.6Co0.4N for lithium ion battery was prepared by using Li3N and Co powders as raw materials. The structure and the lithium intercalation properties were investigated by I means of XRD and coulombic titration. The results show that Li2.6Co0.4N has a hexagonal structure with the unit cell parameters: a = 0. 500 nm, c = 0. 387 nm; Its capacity is 829 mAh . g(-1). The maximum intercalation of Li+ is 1.7215. The intercalation free energy (DeltaG(in)) of Li+ is -223.98 kj . mol(-1). The value of Li-ion electrochemical diffusion coefficient (D) is 4.6 x 10(-10) similar to 2.65 x 10(-9) cm(2) . s(-1). And also, a series of other thermodynamic and kinetic parameters were gained.
